Available Position

 We are currently in search of a Jobsite Supervisor to join our seasoned team of professionals. This individual needs to be a goal oriented team player, motivated to learn and committed to upholding the highest standards of quality construction and craftsmanship. The role of Jobsite Supervisor will require the ability to coordinate multiple ongoing tasks with numerous team members including the Project Management Team, Subcontractors, Design team and clients on a daily basis.

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, this employee shall be responsible for the site management, execution of construction activities and delivery of new homes and renovations to existing homes, ensuring that work is performed correctly and expeditiously to the highest level of quality. The Jobsite Supervisor will be responsible for promoting efficiency within the company and enhancing customer satisfaction, while upholding the highest level of ethics and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership, direction and supervision to all field personnel on the jobsite, and take action as necessary for timely and professional dispute resolution
• Maintain an organized, clean, safe and secure jobsite work environment
• Review and gain complete understanding of the proposed construction plans and specifications as well as the project budget prepared by the Estimator and/or Project Manager
• Maintain a daily activity log documenting relevant jobsite information
• Perform project layout as required and review/approve vendor shop drawings
• Responsible for purchasing and ordering materials except as specified by Project Manager
• Keep the Project Manager informed on the project status and communicate schedule or performance concerns as well as notify the PM of any required changes in scope
• With Project Manager, create and maintain project schedules as necessary to ensure timely completion of project, and schedule labor and subcontractors to facilitate completion criteria
• Coordinate with local authorities to obtain all regulatory inspections required from pre-construction through final building occupancy
• Review and approve weekly time sheets for employees working on your project, and assist Project Management with review and approval of weekly vendor invoices
• Ability to create technical drawings for communicating details to project team members
• Participate in pre-construction meetings as well as regular progress meetings with Client, Architect, and Project Manager
• When required, provide technical guidance and/or supervision to architects, structural engineers, and independent contractors
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as required or as assigned.
• Assist with the creation project Warranty Manuals
• Ensure the integrity of quality standards and schedule reliability
• Represent the company in business with customers, consultants, subcontractors and other public and/or private agencies and organizations.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma with a minimum of seven(7) years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; or an Associates or Bachelors Degree in Construciton Management, Civil Engineering or related field of study with a minimum of five(5) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Technical knowledge of typical residential construction materials, details and methods
• Possess extensive understanding of rough and finish carpentry, and a basic understanding of all trades relevant to the project.
• Experienced with reading architectural plans, performing material quantification, pricing and ordering materials
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
• Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to assess and establish priorities
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written form and verbally

The role of Assistant Jobsite Supervisor will require the ability to coordinate multiple ongoing tasks with numerous team members including the Jobsite Supervisor, Project Management Team, and Subcontractors on a daily basis.

Under the supervision of the Jobsite Supervisor, this employee shall assist with the jobsite management duties required to maintain a safe and productive work environment. This employee will spend much of his time physically working in a carpentry role, with the additional requirement of assisting the Jobsite Supervisor to fulfill the obligations of jobsite management. This employee will also assist the Jobsite Supervisor ensuring that work is performed correctly and expeditiously to the highest level of quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining an organized, clean, safe and secure work environment
• Assist the Jobsite Supervisor in directing activity on site in an efficient manner
• Assist with labor and subcontractor scheduling
• Maintain a daily activity log documenting relevant jobsite information

This individual needs be a goal oriented team player, motivated to learn and committed to upholding the highest standards of quality construction and craftsmanship. The role of Carpenter will require the ability to coordinate multiple ongoing tasks with numerous team members including the Project Management Team, Jobsite Supervisors, other Winchester Employees and Subcontractors on a daily basis.

Under the direct supervision of the Jobsite Supervisor, this employee shall perform work as necessary to construct new homes and renovations to existing homes. This employee will often be paired with another member of the Winchester Team or a subcontractor, however will also be required to handle the responsibility of periodic independent working assignments. This employee may have occasional interaction with Clients and/or their representatives and should be capable of representing the company in a professional manner.

Winchester understands that candidates for the Carpenter role may have varying levels of skills based on past experience, and the company is committed to developing the right candidates to promote confident execution of the tasks required of this position. The items listed below under ‘Responsibilities’ provide a general outline of the types of tasks that you may be assigned, however you frequently will be paired with another, often more skilled Carpenter(s) to execute these tasks, providing an opportunity for growth and skill development.

Responsibilities

• Install exterior architectual millwork and trim inclusive of windows, doors , columns, siding, cornice, cornerboards, window and door trim, decking and exterior railings. While not a requirement, a general understanding of exterior flashings is advantageous.
• Install interior architectural millwork and trim inclusivive of custom cabinet installation, hanging doors, installation of base molding, casing, crown molding, interior wall and ceiling paneling, simple stair construction (inclusive of handrails, and baluster systems), assist in setting appliances and custom panels, bath accessory installation, and hardware installation.
• Work with Jobsite Supervisor to layout various elements of the project, and periodically construct mock-up samples for approval.
• Periodically perform miscellaneous framing carpentry tasks from working alongside of the framing crew to installation of blocking, or modifying framing to accommodate the project scope.
• Understand the scope of the work and address any questions and/or discrepencies with the Supervisor.
• Exemplify safety for workers and subcontractors at all times. Proper inspection of all equipment to ensure that the company’s saftey practices are being met.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as required or as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years residential carpentry/construction experience.
• Must have a desire and willingness to learn the carpentry trade regardless of current experience level
• Ability to work independently or in a group environment and capable of communicating clearly and professionally with co-workers and sub contractors while maintaining a positive attitude.
• General knowledge of residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, and safety.
• Detail oriented, well organized with an ability to plan ahead and envision all steps in an assigned task.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or the ability and desire to learn such skill over time
• Must have a customer service and customer satisfaction mindset
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
• Clean results from drug testing and background checks
